Our highly-specialized physiotherapy team is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to every child suffering from a delay in their development due to neurological or muscular disorders, syndromes and/or prematurity.
The first years in a child’s life are considered to be crucial for a healthy development of the body. If therapy is started as early as possible, this can have a positive impact on the child’s later development.
Hence, CBH offer physiotherapy especially for children from the age of 1 day up to 3 years old, in order to improve their gross motor abilities and enhance their quality of life.

- Physiotherapy
Among the most common disorders our physiotherapists treat are Erb’s Palsy and Torticollis.
One way of evaluating patients with any type of cerebral palsy by our physiotherapy team is the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS):
The GMFCS is a classification of 5 different levels our physiotherapists use to define children with cerebral palsy based on their gross motor abilities, limitations in gross motor function and need for hand-held mobility devices, such as walkers or crutches, and wheeled mobility.
This system aims to determine the best level that represents your child’s current gross motor function capabilities. It emphasizes the child’s usual performance at home or school (their daily routine), rather than their ability to perform something at their best.
Alongside our physiotherapy services, this clinic extends to the following special therapies:
- Occupational Therapy
Our highly-skilled occupational therapist aims to help children gain or increase independence, enhance the development of fine, sensory, cognitive and visual motor skills that children need to function and adapt in their respective environment and prevent potential disability.
The occupational therapist evaluates and treats children up to three years of age with disorders or disabilities including sensory-motor disorders, down syndrome, autism and other genetic diagnoses and developmental disabilities. This is done on an outpatient and inpatient basis.
Manual Ability Classification System (MACS) and Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) are among assessment tools to evaluate the child’s condition.
- Chest Physiotherapy
This program offers an array of treatments dedicated to enhancing a child’s respiratory efficiency, promoting lung expansion, strengthening the respiratory muscles and clearing secretions from airways.
This is usually conducted for patients, in whom coughing is not enough to clear mucus or other secretions from their lungs.
Cystic fibrosis and primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) patients are common recipients of chest physiotherapy.
- Speech Therapy:
The speech-language therapist works to prevent, evaluate, diagnose and treat speech, language, social and cognitive communication, as well as swallowing disorders for children up to 18 years of age.
Speech-related disorders treated in the speech therapy clinic include language delays (expressive or receptive), articulation disorders, phonological disorders and fluency disorders.
