Under the patronage of H.E Dr. Mai Al Keileh, Palestinian Minister of Health, Caritas Baby Hospital held today June 4, the second Neuropediatric Symposium.
This educational event is the concluding activity of the “Clinic Partnership” project conducted between the Caritas Baby Hospital and the Tübingen University Hospital. It allowed for the exchange of expertise and knowledge between eight distinguished international subspecialists and local professionals on various neurological topics among children, including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and metabolic and genetic disorders.
In his welcoming speech, Issa Bandak, the Chef Executive Officer at Caritas Baby Hospital confirmed that the hospital is responding to the local needs in its strategic plan among which improving Pediatric Neurology is a priority. Bandak added, “We remain faithful to our mission to improve health outcomes of children in Palestine through specialized and safe services delivered by a high caliber team”.
On this occasion, Dr. Hiyam Marzouqa Awad, the medical director at CBH commented: “over the last fifteen years, Caritas Baby Hospital has been successively developing its Neuropediatric services. Currently, we are a referral centre for hundreds of children with chronic neurologic syndromes thanks to our comprehensive healthcare".
From Tübingen University Hospital, Dr. Samuel Groeschel, Consultant Pediatric Neurologist said, “We are very proud of this long-standing cooperation between Tübingen University Hospital and Caritas Baby Hospital. Today, we are able to contribute to the wellbeing of Palestinian children by promoting the diagnosis and treatment of neuropediatric patients by means of consultations, continuous education programs and scientific exchange”.
