Representatives of the Patient Safety Committee at Caritas Baby Hospital took part in the 2025 World Patient Safety Day activities, organized by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and several national and private hospitals in Ramallah on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
Held under the theme “Patient Safety from the First Moment: Safe Care for Every Newborn and Every Child”, this year’s observance highlighted the importance of ensuring safe healthcare for children from birth. The focus was on strengthening preventive measures and minimizing medical errors as a foundation for building a safer and more equitable healthcare system for children in Palestine.
The program featured a series of specialized sessions, including a presentation by Mrs. Wafa’ Ghanem, Director of the Quality and Patient Safety Department at Caritas Baby Hospital, on neurodevelopmental care and ensuring safe clinical outcomes for premature infants.
Commenting on the event, Dr. Ra’fat Allawi, Chief Medical Officer at Caritas Baby Hospital, said:
“This meeting underscores the serious efforts of the Palestinian medical sector to enhance patient safety, especially for children.
