Under the patronage of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Caritas Baby Hospital organized today, September 30, 2025, a scientific day on the occasion of World Patient Safety Day under the theme “Safe Care for Every Newborn and Child: Patient Safety from the Very First Moment”.
The event brought together a distinguished group of healthcare providers and representatives of patient safety committees from hospitals across the southern West Bank. The program featured a series of lectures delivered by specialists from Caritas Baby Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, and Bethlehem University, all focused on raising awareness and enhancing knowledge regarding safety procedures for sick children.
In her remarks during the event, Ms. Linda Ali, Acting Head of the Quality and Patient Safety Unit at the Palestinian Ministry of Health, emphasized that the Ministry aims to realize the theme of this day by placing patient safety and the human right to health - especially for children - at the heart of national healthcare services. She highlighted the significance of the gathering, stating: “Our gathering today is not only important on the medical and scientific levels; it is also a reaffirmation of our resilience and our steadfastness as a people who believe in science, knowledge, and progress”.
For his part, Dr. Ra’fat Allawi, Chief Medical Officer at Caritas Baby Hospital, praised the ongoing cooperation between the Ministry and local hospitals, saying: “We take pride in our strong relationship with the Palestinian Ministry of Health and local hospitals, which contributes to enhancing scientific and knowledge exchange among medical teams and advancing the Palestinian healthcare system”.
