Caritas Baby Hospital Promotes Neurodevelopmental Care for Preterm Babies in the Intensive Care Unit

On the occasion of World Prematurity Day, Caritas Baby Hospital, Bethlehem University, and Holy Family Hospital organized a specialized scientific conference on “Neurodevelopmental Care for Preterm Babies in the Intensive Care Unit”.

The conference, held at Bethlehem University, brought together a distinguished group of physicians, nurses, and neonatal care providers from various local hospitals with the aim of advancing the quality of care offered to preterm babies - the most vulnerable group in the community.

The program included a series of scientific lectures highlighting the latest evidence-based practices in neonatal care that support the neurological and motor development of preterm babies during their stay in intensive care and after discharge. The event also featured constructive discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise among the medical teams working in this vital field.

Commenting on this participation, Mrs. Suheir Qumsieh, Chief Nursing Officer at Caritas Baby Hospital, stated: “This conference contributes to the World Health Organization’s ‘Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures’ campaign, which aligns with the mission of Caritas Baby Hospital and affirms that every child deserves a fair chance at life, starting from their very first moments”.
