Caritas Baby Hospital Names Dr. Ra’fat Allawi as a New Chief Medical Officer

Caritas Baby Hospital (CBH) is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Ra’fat Allawi as its new Chief Medical Officer (CMO), effective August 1, 2024. Dr. Allawi will succeed the esteemed Dr. Hiyam Marzouqa Awad, who has served with distinction in this role for 18 years.

With a proven track record of unwavering dedication to excellence in healthcare, Dr. Allawi is poised to make significant contributions to advancing CBH's mission. His appointment underscores CBH's commitment to delivering specialized and safe healthcare services to children in Palestine.

Dr. Allawi joined CBH as a general doctor in 2006 and after receiving specialization in pediatric medicine from Jordan, he returned to CBH in 2016 as a pediatrician and medical manager for one of the pediatric wards. He later pursued a fellowship to sub-specialize in pediatric pulmonology and since in 2019 he’s been leading the pulmonology services and significantly contributing to the intensive care unit at CBH. He is also a strong supporter of sick children and their families. Dr. Allawi expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, "I am honored with this new responsibility and trust in this dear organization. I look forward to continuing the collaboration with the talented team at CBH to drive innovation and excellence in pediatric care”.
