Inaugurated in October 2013, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Caritas Baby Hospital (CBH) consists of four pediatric beds and five neonatal beds.
It serves CBH patients - ages ranging from newborns, including premature infants, to 18-year-olds - in need of intensive medical care, as well as referred patients from governmental and private medical centers located in the South of the West Bank. The ICU receives a large number of cases suffering from respiratory problems, but also from sepsis, neonatal jaundice and prematurity.
The unit is operated by one pediatrician, four resident doctors (one senior), in addition to thirteen specialized nurses, and utilizes an interdisciplinary approach in providing medical care for its patients.
