The neonatal ward at Caritas Baby Hospital (CBH) consists of 14 beds, including four incubators and 10 warming systems. It provides medical care for premature and sick newborn babies in need of close monitoring after birth.
Babies and infants admitted to the neonatal and premature ward are commonly diagnosed with jaundice, prematurity, neonatal sepsis, meningitis, gastroenteritis, pulmonary infections, skin infections, or Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn (TTN).
This ward employs an experienced medical team who operates advanced technology in treatment. In addition, our physiotherapy, nutrition and Feeding and swallowing teams follow up regularly on the newborns development while hospitalized. Babies in the ward are also screened for possible preterm deficiencies, such as vision impairments.
Mothers are encouraged to stay close to their newborns during hospitalization and are offered accommodation in the Mothers’ Residency Department.
