Caritas Baby Hospital Treats Children from the Gaza Strip

A group of 68 children from the SOS Children’s Village Rafah in Gaza arrived in Bethlehem earlier this month. It is the first time since the war began on October 7, 2023 that people have been evacuated from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank.

Upon their arrival, Caritas Baby Hospital, having a long partnership with the SOS, sent a medical team consisting of two doctors, three nurses and a social worker to medically examine the children, provide them with psychosocial care and free medication.

“Finally, we can do something for the innocent victims of the Gaza war" Issa Bandak CEO of the hospital comments on this intervention.

Caritas Baby Hospital also cares for a total of seven children from the Gaza Strip who were being treated in Israeli hospitals when the war broke out and were no longer able to return home.

The hospital works closely with the Palestinian Ministry of Health and is available for further treatment of sick children from the Gaza Strip.
