Cases that are granted admission to the ER include children suffering from breathing difficulties, septic shock, severe dehydration, cardiac arrest, convulsion attacks, choking and poisoning.
The emergency room operates a Triage Rapid Initial Assessment by Doctor (TRIAD) system that handles urgent cases efficiently and effectively. The Outpatient Department team is able to timely identify and determine patients with life-threatening situations and provide them priority treatment.
Cases suffering from trauma or require surgery are not admitted to the ER.
